It looks like Amanda Congdon has finally landed on her feet with deals with HBO and ABC. It guess things came up roses after all that whinging and complaining about how Andrew Baron did her wrong, blah, blah, blah to cause the big split from Rocketboom. The big question now is whether Congdon will be able to repeat her success in the traditional media world (although she will be doing a five-minute video blog spot for ABC.com). Amid concerns about lacklustre interest in municipal elections, the town of Markham, Ont. has been aggressive in the use of online voting. To that end, officials siad the number of people who voted online in yesterday's election jumped 48% to 10,639 from 7,210 in 2003. Sure, it's a small increase relatively speaking but it accounts for 18% of total votes cast so perhaps Markham's on to something.

According to VoIP News, I'm one of the top 50 industry influencers (every time this kind of thing happens, I feel the urge to break into a Sally Field-like "you like me. Right now, you really like me" speech). Among my peers in the "The The Daily Show – VoIP Bloggers, Pundits, & Thought Leaders" category are folks such as Jeff Pulver, Andy Abramson, Om Malik, Rich Tehrani, Alec Saunders, Jon Arnold, Garrett Smith, Greg Gatlizine, Russell Shaw and Tom Keating.
